# The Main Players in the 10DLC Ecosystem

The 10DLC Ecosystem includes various entities that play a unique role with the collective goal of getting your customers’ text messages delivered:

- The Campaign Registry (TCR is the 10DLC reputation authority to register text messaging campaigns)
- Connectivity Providers (CNPs) are also known as messaging API Providers

# How Legacy SMS API Providers Leverage the 10DLC Ecosystem

Legacy SMS API providers recommend a ‘reseller’ model, where you give them information about your customers, and they represent you with TCR. With this model, your SMS API provider controls your customer information, not you. This is also a way for the legacy SMS API provider to lock you in with them.

Typically, legacy API providers require Campaign approvals from 2 DCAs with significant delays in Campaign approval, which can adversely affect your customers' ability to send text messages.
